The problem
As AI becomes easier to use, it also becomes easier to stop struggling, stop retaining, and stop thinking deeply. Convenience can quietly replace understanding.
Wizzist started from one idea: AI should not do the thinking. It should help students think better.
Built by educators, engineers, and families who believe AI should strengthen learning, not shortcut it.
Our Mission
As AI becomes easier to use, it also becomes easier to stop struggling, stop retaining, and stop thinking deeply. Convenience can quietly replace understanding.
We design AI that explains, cites, and coaches. It does not shortcut learning. It strengthens it through scaffolded guidance, attempt-first habits, and long-term memory.
Our Story
Nonnie McKeon King spent years living abroad with her family, from Spain to Bahrain to Singapore, where her children attended top international schools. She saw how education thrives when families and teachers stay actively connected and students feel supported.
As AI began to reshape learning, she teamed up with Monica Merrill to build a different kind of tool: one that guides effort, deepens understanding, and keeps the human relationship to learning intact.
Wizzist literally started bc of one vibe: AI shouldn't do the thinking for you. It should help you actually get it, fr fr.
Built by teachers, devs, and families who think AI should make a big brain, not just be a cheat code.
Our Mission
As AI gets easier to use, it's getting way too easy to just copy-paste, stop trying, and forget everything. Brain-rotting convenience is replacing actual Ws in understanding.
We built an AI that explains, drops receipts (cites), and coaches you. It's not a shortcut. It buffs your learning with scaffolded guidance, attempt-first habits, and long-term memory. W.
Our Story
Nonnie McKeon King went on a massive side quest living abroad with her family, from Spain to Bahrain to Singapore. She saw how school hits different when families and teachers stay connected and students feel supported.
When AI started changing everything, she linked up with Monica Merrill to build something better: a study partner that coaches effort, protects understanding, and still keeps you the main character.
Leadership
Nonnie McKeon King
Co-Founder and CEO
"Keep curiosity at the center and humans in control."
After years navigating international school communities across Spain, Bahrain, and Singapore, Nonnie saw how much learner confidence depends on strong connection between students, families, and teachers.
She co-founded Wizzist to build AI that supports that connection through guided discovery, thoughtful practice, and tools that help students own their understanding.
Monica Merrill
Co-Founder
"AI should guide thinking, not replace it."
Monica Merrill built her career at the intersection of education, business, and family life. With a JD from BYU and an MBA from Westminster College, she works as an educator and in corporate real estate while raising four children.
Watching technology enter the classroom firsthand, she saw a growing tension: powerful tools that could either strengthen learning or quietly replace it. Wizzist reflects her belief that AI should guide thinking, encourage effort, and help students grow—while keeping real understanding at the center of education.
